Jennifer Hudson
Can you picture Jennifer Hudson as precious..? I sure can’t. J-Hud has was offered the role but didn’t want to back on the pounds required.
The Oscar-winner says:
I had [gained weight] with Effie [in Dreamgirls] and as much as I was moved by this film, I wanted to try a role that had nothing whatsoever to do with my weight.
Let’s be honest here… Precious is a great movie and I don’t think adding Jennifer Hudson would have improved it. You may not like what I’m about to say but I think Jennifer Hudson is too pretty for the role. I mean seriously would we all have been as sympathetic for a beautiful full -figure Jennifer Hudson.
Hell NO !
You can’t put Mega star Jennifer Hudson in a role like that and still expect the audience “me” to connect emotionally. That just won’t work.
Dreams girls was different she was still “newish”. Heck I had difficulty with her role as Sarah Jessica- Parkers assistant from St. Louis in the Sex in the City Movie. It just didn’t fit her.
Now Jennifer Hudson as Winnie Mandela on the other hand seems to be a more fitting role. I said “seems’. hmm, has the movie been released yet.?
I’ll look into that.
