A 52-year-old woman was killed today in a traffic crash in the south suburbs, authorities said. The crash happened at 154th Street and Pulaski Road, the border between Markham and Midlothian. The victim, Maureen Lavin, 52, of the 14700 block of Turner Avenue, Midlothian, was pronounced dead shortly before 11 a.m. at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, said a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Midlothian fire personnel confirmed the fatality, but referred all calls to Markham authorities, who handled the crash. Representatives from the Markham Police and Fire Departments were unavailable for comment. — Staff report
