DJ Showtyme is quickly becoming one of the Chicagoland Area’s marquis djs. Showtyme’s career was sparked at age 5 when for Christmas his mother & father brought him his 1st turntable & small stack of records. DJ Showtyme for the arts steadily increased winning poetry contests in grammar & junior high school while he studied the greats: Stevie Wonder, EarthWing & Fire, Michael Jackson & Marvin Gaye.,

He gained a reputation in Jr. High & high school rapping & performing in local talent shows & honed his skills until I graduated & enrolled at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. One of the top schools in the nation, Showtyme began djing professionally for all the fraternities & sororities on campus as well as djing for local college radio station. He opened up for various artists there including: A Tribe Called Quest, Common, Crucial Conflict & Twista to name a few.

After college, Showtyme returned to the Chicagoland area & within a week was a member of Chicago Mixmasters, a dj crew in Chicago headed by Martin “Boogieman” Luna. Seven months later he was the official dj for Drunken Style Records, a local independent rap label located in Elgin.

After months of putting in work with Drunken Style, a chance meeting with Chicago DJ Legend Shaun T directed Showtyme with Full Impact Djs Worldwide & the rest has been history!! DJ Showtyme works at least four nights a week in clubs throughout the North & South suburbs & Chicago. He also does 15 minute “Plug In Mix” with Chi Only Radio on 1530 AM WJJG. It’s the love of music & people that keeps Showtyme motivated to contribute to the hip hop culture.
