“DJ Tronda”, Chicago’s sexy DJ on the rise, is a native Chicagoan born and raised on the south side of Chicago.
Tronda’s interest in becoming a Disc Jockey began as a young girl in the early 80’s. She grew up watching her father prepare for his weekend sets at the Glass House Lounge on 79th and Halsted. She sat there and watched him as he hooked up the equipment, recorded music on his real to real tape deck, and practiced for his weekly set.

DJ Tronda was intrigued and inspired by his talent and of course it sparked her own interests. DJ Tronda purchased some equipment of her own and began spinning privately for family and close friends. The passing of her father on her birthday in March of 2009 inspired her to take her talent to Dj to another level.

Equipped with knowledge of how spin music her attention turned to learning how to mix music. DJ Tronda sought the expertise of the “legendary” Joe Smooth to teach her the basics of mixing music. With the encouragement and assistance of family members Tronda set up an online radio station and began streaming music online. There she would build her listening audience and make contacts to prepare for her debut in front of a live audience. Tronda accepted invitations from Dave Mays and Brett Morrison to spin as a guest at lounges where they had a residency. The response from the live crowd was outstanding! It motivated her to continue to pursue her passion which is to spin music in front of a live audience.

Motivated by the desire to be heard by the public and honor her late Father, DJ Tronda partnered with Mentor, the” Legendary Joe Smooth” and began spinning at a weekly event at the Glass House Lounge.
