Five people, two of them teens, were wounded in a drive-by shooting this evening in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side, police said. Chicago police officers investigate at the scene of the shooting tonight. (Tribune / Abel Uribe) Four out of the five victims, the teens included, were taken to local hospitals in serious-to-critical condition, said Larry Langford, a Chicago Fire Department spokesman. The fifth victim, a 34-year-old man, was taken in fair-to-serious condition, he said. One of the teens, a 15-year-old boy, was taken to the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital. The other teen-aged boy, 16, was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital. The other male victims, including the 34-year-old, were transported to Mt. Sinai or Stroger Hospital of Cook County, Langford said. The shooting happened outdoors near West 53rd and South Halsted Streets about 8:20 p.m., police said. Police said the vehicle involved in the drive-by is described as a white Jeep Cherokee. No one was in custody. Wentworth Area detectives were investigating. — Staff report
